Remember when the internet was fun? People use to make there own home pages back when there was no social networks. My name is Tom Meulendijks and this is my homepage, I hope you like it!

Decentralization

The internet used to be completely decentralized. People ran their own web servers, mail servers, chat servers, and so forth. Slowly but surely, big platforms started to take over. Almost no one runs their own email server anymore; the vast majority of people have a Gmail, Outlook, or ProtonMail address. Very few people have blogs these days—they use Medium, Substack, or social networks to share their messages. This puts power in the hands of a few big corporations, the opposite of what the internet was supposed to be.

My passion is to decentralize the internet again. I pursue this through my company, SteelTrace, by utilizing blockchain technology and by running my own website, mail servers, and a Bitcoin node.
